Reconciliation

Last Tuesday, 22nd October, the students from our school and parish who are preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation participated in an evening workshop.

The evening incorporated a range of hands on activities, discussions and tasks to further develop our understanding of Reconciliation. Utilising prayer, bible passages, questions and artistic skills, the students discovered the various meanings of sin, the ways we can offer forgiveness or penance and the ways in which we can all improve ourselves and our actions to become closer to God.

On Thursday, 24th October, the boys and girls participated in an awareness and walk through of the church and the Sacred items that are present, with Sr Elizabeth. It was an enjoyable experience with a range of activities to develop our understanding of the many Catholic traditions and rituals.

On Friday, 25th October, we had our student Retreat Day with the Servite 24/7 Youth Team. They led us on a faith filled journey to better prepare and understand the importance of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This was an engaging day for all involved. It was filled with games, arts and crafts and some quiet reflective time.

On Saturday, 26th October, the boys and girls gathered at St Denis Church to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We thank Father Anthony, Father Chris and Father Leonard who celebrated the Liturgy of the Word. It was a beautiful ceremony and the children participated with great reverence and respect. The day concluded with a beautiful afternoon tea in the School Hall and we would like to thank all the parents who assisted on the day!

We would like to congratulate all the children who received the Sacrament for the first time and all the children who have prayed, supported and participated throughout our preparations and the Reconciliation Program.
